Referee Upgrade
Upgrade sessions and Super Saturdays:
(6 Hours)
Following will replace the present procedures for referee upgrade to
Grade 7, 6, or 5 in CAS beginning January 2010.
>All upgrade sessions will be conducted regionally in two regions in Southern California bi-annually in the months of June and November It will be a 6 hour clinic to complete the upgrade requirements providing that the referee has accumulated his/her clinical hours during ten sessions at the home association monthly meetings .
>Each individual referee will need to have the appropriate level
Assessment (s) completed or be in the last stages of completion meaning that the SDA has been contacted and is actively involved in completing the required assessment.
>Evidence of attendance and completion of the clinical hours that has been completed at the home organizations and can be verified by the CAS referee Re-Certification Coordinator, Jeremy Swan. He will have the data stored for verification after receiving files from the attending designated instructor.
>Proof of required game completion. Verification is based on honor system and each referee will establish a system to track the games assigned and officiated at the local or state levels.
>Successfully completing the US Soccer Physical Fitness test conducted during the upgrade session.
>Attending and successfully completing the required10+ hours for upgrade mandated by US Soccer. Partial completion will cause delay in the upgrade process.
CAS will be the responsible party to post the exact dates, times, and location of these clinics.
